Intro to Soundtrack Pro 2


This two-day class guides you through using Soundtrack Pro to edit audio files, repair field recordings, perform multitrack arranging and mixing, synchronize audio and video, analyze and fix common audio problems, and perform other creative sound design techniques. This course focuses on practical, professional techniques used to add professional music and sound effects to video and multimedia projects.

Who should attend? - This course is designed for those that want to learn the basics of audio content creation, editing and mixing. he course is designed for those who prefer hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore the functionality of Soundtrack Pro. A basic understanding of Mac OS X is required.

Certification - This course covers the requirements necessary to successfully become an Apple Certified Pro, Level 1. This certification also counts toward the new Final Cut Studio (FCS) Master Pro certification. You are required to have an Apple Tech ID number before registering for any Apple exam.

Lesson 2: Fixing Audio Files
Opening Audio Files, Non-destructive Editing and Actions, Editing at the Sample Level, Analyzing an Audio File, Fixing Pops and Clicks, Removing Noise, Working with Ambient Noise, and Applying Changes to Other Final Cut Pro Clips.

Lesson 3: Working with the Frequency Spectrum
Frequency Spectrum View, Adjusting Spectrum Display Controls, Frequency Selection Tool, Adding Selections to the Timeline, Time Stretching Audio, Multitrack Editing, Understanding Snap Modes, and Using Cycle Regions.

Lesson 4: Editing Multitrack Projects
Opening Multitrack Projects, Using the Timecode HUD, Using Score Markers, Spotting Effects, Using the Multipoint Video HUD, and Ripple Edits.

Lesson 5: Working with Content
Adding New Apple Collections, Using the Search Function, Creating Favorites, Working with Effects, Creating a Simple Soundtrack, and Exploring the Master Envelopes.

Using the Mixer, Adding DSP Effects to a Track, Adding DSP Effects to a Clip, Working with Fades, Usng Busses, About Submixes, Using Envelopes to Automate Tracks, Exploring Automation Modes, Setting Volume for Video, Returning to Final Cut Pro, Exporting Your Song, and Exporting OMF/AAF Files.

Lesson 8: ADR Recording in Soundtrack Pro
Setting Up for ADR, Choosing an Input, Monitoring Recording, Setting Recording Levels, Recording the First Take, Previewing a Recording and Multitrack Recording.

Lesson 9: Getting Deeper into ADR
Using Prerecorded ADR Files, Using the Multitake Editor, Matching Sounds, Using the Sound Pallet HUD, Using the Lift and Stamp Tools.
